I’ve got my blogging groove back. Feeling rejuvenated and re-inspired after one of the most hectic Decembers I can recall! I’ve been dying to share this painterly project designed exclusively for the readers of Southern Weddings Magazine. I worked with Nicole and the SW Team to create a custom suite of painted paperie fit to inspire any southern detail loving couple… here an understated color palette mixed with gilded embellishments and detailed paintings reveals a sweet and soft collection of paper moments.
Of course I was thrilled to see a few of our pieces on the pages of this “Southern Paper” feature! So let’s dive in to a close-up look…
This invitation layout is a classic for us, using a mix of flowery script and bold block fonts… The lofty knot is made of rich silk dupioni with an added twist…more on that later!
Found these tiny gilded frames in one of my favorite spots in NYC – all vintage, all beautiful in their imperfection! Then I created a detailed painting of ripe peaches on leafy branches. First I sketch the outline of the frame and then a quick impression of the peach scene – from there it is all about a brush and paint. Each invitation literally is a framed work of art.
Silk Dupioni takes to paint like….I’m trying to think of some catchy southern euphemism here – well let’s just say silk loves paint and we brush stripes onto ours for an unmistakeably Momental look!!
Another gilded frame for the program, but painted inside were stripes instead! Love the clean stripes against the more Baroque details of the frame!
Check in tomorrow for a look at another project of ours that made the pages of the newest Southern Weddings Magazine! XO
