Trend-Sketching NYC Bridal Market 2011 – Theia Couture

Our NYC Bridal Market adventure began with the artful show of Theia Couture.  The designer, Don O’Neill spoke briefly at the start about his fall 2012 collection designed to uphold Theia’s approachable pricepoint with the finest of details while offering select, more indulgent pieces.  A romantic goddess vibe unfolded as each model floated down the aisle.  Modern pleats in fluid textures, raw edges and iridescent flapper-esque embroidery was thrilling to see against more classic laces and chiffon textures.  My pen could barely keep up!

The circular detailing was seen again and again but evolved from clean and unadorned to fussier and more embellished.  Crystal petals fashioned into a luxe bloom pattern was a show stopper.  The bulbous shapes of each petal could translate beautifully into invitation design.  Creating this post has me wanting to paint creamy white and ivory blooms on glass…ahh!

Theia Couture speaks strongly to the modern bride who is willing to take some risks.  Need I say more about this chic jumpsuit?
