Aleah and Nick from Valley and Co. are the kind of people you want in your corner. They combine sincere kindness with intuitive artistry, incomparable vision and organization…what could be better? So anytime they ask me to get on board with one of their projects, I do not even think twice. Yes, YES is always the answer. Late last year Aleah was asked to style an exclusive shoot for Exquisite Weddings Magazine in San Diego at the famed Hotel del Coronado. I was honored to get involved and so jazzed by the clean and modern inspiration. A chance to show my mod side and work with Aleah…perfect.
A cool palette of mint greens, ivory, aqua and gray all set with the Hotel del Coronado as a backdrop…divine.
The play of sharp succulent shapes against soft, ruffly Ranunculus is enchanting. Buttery yellow orchids give the perfect touch of warmth in harmony with an otherwise chill palette. My signature sketchy pattern makes an appearance throughout the paper goods. The gestural quality of the graphite lines plays nicely with painted dots and watercolor borders throughout the stationery suite.
When visioning ideas for this collaboration I had no doubts about creating a SKETCHED version of the Hotel del Cornonado. Expressive lines capture the iconic structure and suggest the dynamic quality of its natural surroundings of palm trees and sand. Two version of a watercolored succulent illustration make appearances on the skinny menu and Pocketfold™ invitation enclosure.
I adore this linen and in this shot it sits perfectly against the silver accents seen in the dinner and flatware. How cool is the reflection of the curelean blue sky in the spoon and fork? Here the place card was printed on shimmery mint green stock with a white painted succulent.
Honored to be part of this stellar team:
