Guest Blogger – Vintage Styling Inspirations from Maggpie Vintage Rentals

When planning our vow renewal celebration back in 2010 I met Maggie, the lovely gal behind Maggpie Vintage Rentals.  Maggie and Jason (the fiance) are making quite the name for themselves and I’m lucky to have them right in my back yard!  In addition to having a keen eye for spotting the sweetest pieces to collect, Maggie also has a sharp eye for styling.  This week she put together some inspiration for us based on the newest pieces in her inventory, so much so I can’t fit it all into one post!  Big hugs to Maggie for staging these glorious images just for RiceInk readers.  Wow, don’t we feel special?  XO

As some of you may have noticed Jason and I have been drawn to our spools lately. I’ve been obsessed with them ever since Jason randomly brought them home about a year ago so I thought, why not take my current favorite piece and simply showcase that. So that’s what I did. Well, not just me exactly. Kim Winey was scheduled to shoot in the space and I thought, perfect, I’ll ask her for some help. Well I should know better. What I thought was going to be a few simple concepts and a few pictures.. turned into a production. A really great production though! I’d like to call this segment “Just Spoolin’ Around” (props to Jason) As much as I’d like the pictures to speak for themselves, I’m still going to do a little explanation of each, but really the pictures speak for themselves.

1. An intimate umbrella table made out of lace.. what else would it be made out of? Can you do this on a large scale? Not quite, but it can be used in several intimate settings. Sweetheart table, bridal party table..How about nix the chairs and use it as your guest book table? I’m not going to make a large list because I know you just want to look at the pictures…

OR why not be inspired to make one yourself and take your cup of coffee out on a summer morning and enjoy it under an umbrella made of lace?

Kristy this would look nice in your front yard. (I’ll take one please! – K)

2.Those of you who love mis matched china… how about a simple display of cups & saucers?

Check back later this week for more styling ideas from Maggie!
