Inspirations – Framed Garden Wedding Invitations with Jillian McGrath Photography

Been dying to share this mini shoot with you!  A few weeks ago our newest Framed Garden Collection was chosen to be featured in a Style Me Pretty Garden Wedding Invitation Roundup!  How excited are we?  So read on to see more about these mini works of art…

Jill and her husband Ryan of Jillian McGrath Photography has an uncanny way of capturing a moment, a feeling, a simple but wildly impactful touch of time.  Emotion runs high in my line of work where brushstrokes conjure memory and enliven spirits and in these images Jill was able to encapsulate the entire process.

Collecting findings has become a bit of an obsession but I especially love discovering vintage pieces in quantity so I can use them in real wedding project.  This tiny  gold (plated of course) frames really got my creative juices flowing.  I decided to create a framed garden as the invitation focal point.  So after the petite frame was adhered, each impressionistic bloom was painted free hand.  A thick impasto painted peony adorned the rehearsal card.

Silk Dupioni ribbon became my canvas here with watercolor stripes and gold touches…

Wallpaper was the inspiration at the beginning, hence the hand painted envelope liner…

The texture of watercolor paper always makes me happy not to mention a brush dripping with thick paint.  They both, for me, speak of possibility.

Thank you Jill and Ryan for capturing all this loveliness…XOXO
