Well the team weathered the storm well back in Pennsylvania. Me, I’m here in sunny Utah and thrilled to finally be sharing the first of three runway to reality shoots we produced for Occasions Magazine earlier this year. Using three Claire Pettibone gowns as our muse, 3 distinct scenes were visioned and first today is the Amelie.
The point of this project was to communicate how a gown can infuse it’s aesthetic into countless other moments throughout the wedding – cake, stationery, table decor and on and on… The billowy freshness of the Amelie gown made me dream in muted shades of green, yellow and blush. Words like organic, youthful and soft came to mind.
This scene began with the dress but this painting soon followed. I lovingly call this this Amy bouquet, named after the very talented and kind Amy Osaba. Weeks before our project I pulled countless images of Amy’s work and created a decidedly Osaba-esque watercolor that would indeed inspired much of the details for this Amelie gown shoot.
Amy chose to include the elusive lenten rose in all her floral details. We adore this bloom that makes it’s appearance in early February! The peach ranunculus was ah-mazing that day as well, had to include in the place setting. A glass panel hand painted with blooms was the perfect, light and airy table number and Crate and Barrel’s leafy salad plate pushed the fresh vibe even further in this scene!
Oh Amy Osaba, how we love the magic you make…
Sharon of Sweet Sensations took her design cues directly from my painting to create this masterpiece. Every time I look, I see more detail and delicious artistry. Occasions magazine agreed as this cake made the cover!! Sharon, Sharon, you never cease to amaze.
So on to the stationery. The Amy bouquet watercolor was mingled with champagne and sage cardstocks and a bit of tulle detailing. The artwork became pattern on a bold hand painted envelope liner and was again reinterpreted on the glass table number.
