Behind the Scenes – Original Watercolors for Ketubah.com

I can barely contain myself today!!  Been sitting on some news and finally I can share.  Last year the folks at ArtVows.com got in touch to commission a series of paintings.  Art Vows was founded by the leaders in artful Ketubahs, Ketubah.com!  The concept of Art Vows is to offer all couples the opportunity to include a marriage certificate of sorts as part of their ritual or ceremony.  So for the last several months I’ve been creating paintings for a series highly inspired by the peacock plume.  The interpretation of the plume in this series is wispy yet bold, colorful and somehow still serene.

My designs can be found on both Ketubah.com and ArtVows.com! So excited!!  “Peacock Whisper” is the first in the series and features the softest of watercolor brushstrokes with hints of pencil sketch lines throughout.

“Watercolor Plumes” is the second in the series where the wispy brushstrokes are still obvious but the bold color palette takes this look in a much more moody direction.

Check out a sneak peek at the third painting in the series!!  The tree is such a powerful symbol of history, growth and longevity, I just had to find a way to work it into this scene.  Haven’t thought of a name for this one yet, but it will come.
