Behind the Scenes – Artful Watercolor Rose Wedding Invitations on Green Wedding Shoes

Last week Momental popped up in the blogging world several times over.  Wow, with my Birthday this past Friday I definitely felt like the universe was handing me gifts last week!!!  This lovely feature on Green Wedding Shoes is a favorite of mine recently, of course because we were asked to be as painterly and floral-minded as possible when creating the stationery.  Roberta of Green and Bloom in Brisbane, Australia reached out to collaborate on this delicious watercolor editorial and I was thrilled to dive right in.

Flowy, watercolor brushstrokes graced each and every surface and YES each brushstroke was individually hand painted atop a slight ghost print of the original artwork.  The result?  A truly Hand Painted Wedding Invitation where you can see and feel every single hand painted moment.

I knew Roberta would delight us all with a variety of lush and spirited bouquet designs so I channeled her creative mind for a moment when envisioning this suite.  Delicate textures, washy hues and sheer petals from my paintbrush played a little creative esp…

I mingled sheer, shimmery inks with rich and thick opaque ones, all against the softest peach shimmer cardstock.

Another inspiring bouquet here with the mint green gown as a backdrop and the most precious glittered heart cookies!

Every seen seems to interpret the idea of watercolor – even if no actual watercolor brushstrokes or droplets are shown.  Each place setting featuring a watercolor-esque sip adorned with sheerly petaled blooms…

…and one last look at the complete suite….The painted ribbon gets me every time.  Dupioni silk takes beautifully to watercolor with all its curious nooks and crannies waiting for color…

Hope you’ve enjoyed my favorites from this project.  Be sure to check our more behind the scenes looks from my co-creatives!
