Last Minute Wedding Tasks

These may have slipped your mind! The stationery edition.

Ok technically, we do not advise waiting till the last minute for any of these! If you’re having some print your stationery, you’ll have to allow time for production and shipping, so we always say, the sooner the better!

Here are common stationery details you’ll want to have in advance to send to print:

-menu text confirmed – probably from the venue

-signature drinks or bar menu – again from the venue

-order of service if printing programs

-escort card list/place card list/seating chart

-guest’s confirmed meal choices (if collected in advance)

One of the most important tasks that you will do in the last few weeks leading up to the wedding is complete the guests’ seating assignments for the reception. Do not wait on doing this task!

The seating assignment is shared with the venue, planner, caterer, stationery, etc in a list format reflecting the names of the attending guests with their table assignment and their dinner selection or allergies, if applicable. It is important that the list shared with vendors is both finalized and accurate, so allow yourself plenty of time to compile and review the list carefully!

You have all of your day-of stationery ready to go such as programs, dinner menus, seating cards, a welcome sign, and the guest book, but who will deliver everything to the venue? The logistics of making all deliveries before the wedding can be easily overlooked during the busy days preceding it, but planning ahead is crucial to ensure these items are in place. If you’re busy, definitely enlist a family member or planner to deliver them. Or, ask your stationer to ship the pieces directly to the venue to avoid this last-minute task altogether.
