A Wintery, Feathery Tablescape on Style Me Pretty

I have been waiting to share these images for months!  Let me say it was worth the wait.  I received the news from Lindsey Maurath of Fresh LIME Events that our collaboration from earlier this year was featured on Style Me Pretty this past Wednesday!  You can imagine my excitement.  To give a bit of contrast from the Style Me Pretty feature, I have chosen some of my favorite shots not seen here.

Before my travels to Grand Cayman for Engage 09 this June I began chatting with Lindsey via Twitter.  We finally met in person in Grand Cayman and instantly clicked.  Lindsey asked me to collaborate on an all white tabletop shoot and I was  intrigued.  As you know, using color is my forte so the thought of an all white palette was a bit intimidating, to be honest.

The centerpiece of the look was Lindsey’s hand-crafted feather linen.  White orchids,  jeweled roping and ghost chairs from Taylor Creative combined harmoniously.

Playing with texture was important so I  decided to incorporate metal into the stationery pieces.  Each menu and the Bride/Groom chair signs were bordered in a hand-buffed metal.  The finish was slightly worn and scratched but cool and sleek at the same time.  Pewter dinnerware pieces from Juliska were the perfect compliment.  Menus were hand-pressed with our Vintage Swirl Pattern and then free-hand swirl brushstokes were added in creamy white acrylic paint.

A big thanks to Lindsey for involving me in this project and of course to Custom Floral Design and Bruce Plotkin Photography!
